There are many ways you can volunteer for Life.
Work in a Life charity shop
With Life shops all over the UK and numbers growing rapidly, the shops are a great place to snap up a bargain whilst helping support Life’s work. Each shop relies on volunteers to work on the shop floor, selling items and helping customers. Other, less customer-facing opportunities are available too – such as managing the storeroom.
Become a Pregnancy Matters™ counsellor or skilled listener
Pregnancy Matters ™ relies on counsellors and skilled listeners to offer vital emotional and practical support to anyone facing a crisis pregnancy or any pregnancy-related problem. Whether that’s through the national Helpline, Text-to-Talk, via email or face-to-face, we welcome fully-qualified Diploma counsellors.
Deliver Life Matters™ talks
If public speaking is your thing, you can volunteer to talk to students at a local school/college, a youth group, or via a partner agency. You’ll receive full training and presentation kits.
Help out in the office
Finished your studies but not got a job offer yet? Want to get some work experience? Need to bump up your CV before that interview? Or simply got some time on your hands? Whether you are 18 or 88 we have a range of office tasks that we need help with.
Help out in a Life house
We run a Life Skills programme across our network of houses. Support Workers put together a unique development plan for each new tenant and volunteers often help in the delivery of training sessions on healthy eating, budgeting, staying safe, and much more. Or you could volunteer by helping with odd jobs like putting up shelves, gardening, mowing the lawn or re-decorating.
Distribute baby equipment
Volunteers can collect donated baby clothes and equipment such as pushchairs, cots and toys and distribute them to young families that need support.
