It’s been an extremely busy month!
Pregnancy tests requested
Imagine having a friend who's with you from day one. Every month we help women as they face the possibility that they might be pregnant. By offering free pregnancy tests, we're accompanying women from the very first moment of their pregnancy journey. In May, 58 women asked us for a free pregnancy test every day.
People asking for counselling
We support women, children and families through our counselling and skilled listening service. This service gives them a place of safety - someone to listen to them. This May, 1179 people used this service or nearly four times the average!
Mums and babies housed
We house mums and their babies who would otherwise be homeless, unsupported, or at risk. We can be a place of safety and sanctuary for them. In May, we housed 236 mums and their babies and have welcomed 20 new residents since April.
Mums and babies moving on
Whenever a mum and baby move out of our house to independent living, that's a success story. In May, 20 mums and babies moved out of our houses.
Why has this happened?
You may have noticed that we have experienced a noticeable increase in the number of counselling clients we have been reaching.
This is because we have been focusing our efforts into engaging with new clients.
As a result we have been able to reach a high number of vulnerable women without sending as many pregnancy tests, saving the charity precious resources, while increasing our impact.
We plan to review this new way of doing things over the coming months, as we look to maximise the number of people we help.
