“The conversation has changed and you’re a part of it.”
Do you want the good news or the bad news? The good news is that in the last 40 years or so our positive alternatives to abortion have helped thousands of women avoid abortion and keep their babies. We have so much to be proud of. The bad news? It’s not enough.
We can’t do everything. We’re just one charity and sophisticated demands on people’s giving is relentless; there are so many other charities out there competing for the same pot of money. We just don’t have the resources to ensure that every woman can access the support she needs at that crucial time in her life.
So here we are in 2016 and, despite our successes, against many odds, abortion has become an unassailable part of UK life, woven into the fabric of society, an untouchable jewel in the feminist crown. The landscape has changed beyond all recognition since the introduction of the Abortion Act.
It’s clear we need a marked change in approach. We need to box clever. We need to change the conversation.
Because all the time the powerful abortion industry has its stranglehold over us, thousands of unborn lives are being lost, thousands of women are being changed forever and thousands of men are suffering too. This is a crisis, year upon year upon year, of epic proportions.
So we have a plan, a plan to reach out to those women who have made an appointment to abort their baby. Our new strategy will meet these women where they’re at – making contact with the girl who’s about to book an abortion with one click on her smartphone or the woman on her way to the clinic.
Reaching out to abortion-minded women at the 11th hour is key to bringing about change. The very nature of crisis pregnancy means we don’t have the luxury of time. On-the-spot decisions are made quickly and often regretted at leisure. We are re-designing our services to provide what women want when they need it most.
In 100 days’ time, on Saturday 25 June 2016, we’ll be unveiling our plans at our launch event Ignite 2016. It’s the most significant and exciting event in our history, and you need to be there.
Whether you’re a staunch prolifer or simply someone who’s become increasingly concerned about abortion in this country, this event is for you.
The conversation has changed and you’re a part of it – we all are.
Over the coming weeks, in our blog series leading up to Ignite 2016, we’ll be looking at how the launch of our new outreach service will make contact with pregnant women in crisis.
The Ignite launch will mark the beginning of a service to rival the dominance of the abortion industry. Women, faced with the horror of a pregnancy they don’t want and didn’t plan, will turn to us first before they get taken off on the abortion provider’s conveyor belt.
So please, come along! With guest speakers, exhibitions, films, free food, music and entertainment, it’s an event not to be missed. And we’ll be revealing our new-look Life branding to kick-start this fresh, new approach.
There’s just 100 days to go and the countdown is on.
Booking is quick & easy. We can’t wait to see you there.
