Life Link One was represented at the SPUC Youth Conference in March by its Life Matters® Officer, James Tranter. Here's his report.
I am really grateful to Rhoslyn Thomas, SPUC’s Youth and Education Officer, for organising the conference and for the warm welcome. This year’s SPUC Youth Conference was one of the largest in recent years, with 200 attendees, showing that the student and youth pro-life movement continues to grow.
SPUC’s Youth Conference is an annual event for pro-lifers aged 18-35. There were a lot of good connections made as well as catching up with old friends. I gave out about 50 Life packs to the attendees, and many of them had positive remarks about Life’s new branding. These packs gave information about our new Hub direction and the ways for them to get involved.
I also had the chance to meet and catch up with John Smeaton, SPUC’s Chief Executive, as well as a number of other SPUC directors and other pro-life organisations like the Christian Legal Centre and the Catholic Medical Association. So it was a wonderful opportunity and I look forward to next year’s conference!
