For many women, abortion is something they keep hidden, even from those closest to them. Maybe it felt like the right choice at the time. Maybe it didn’t. But now, days, months, or even years later, you don’t feel you’ve had the chance to process your experience?

Could This Be Affecting You?

You might not even link what you’re feeling back to the abortion. But if you’re struggling, it’s worth pausing to ask:

  • Do you feel like no one sees how much effort it’s taking to hold it all together?
  • Do you have trouble sleeping, or do you have difficult or troubling dreams?
  • Do you feel a sadness that lingers, even if life looks ‘fine’ from the outside?
  • Do you feel anxious or panicky, and you’re not sure why?
  • Do you get flashes of anger or feel completely numb?
  • Do you avoid anything that reminds you of pregnancy or babies?
  • Do you keep your abortion a secret, even from those you trust?
  • Do you sometimes feel alone, like no one would understand?
  • Are you doing things to distract or numb your feelings like drinking more, staying constantly busy, or pulling away from people?

What You’re Feeling Is Valid.

If any of this sounds like you, please know: your experience matters. Your voice matters. And no, you’re not ‘crazy’ or ‘overreacting’. You don’t have to ‘just get over it’.

No matter your circumstances or reasons at the time of the abortion, if you are struggling, we are here for you. No judgement, no direction, just support.

This Doesn’t Have to Stay a Secret.

We tell children that they should never keep secrets that make them feel heavy, sad, confused, or alone. The same is true for adults.

If you’re keeping this part of your story to yourself or you just don’t know how to say the words, that silence can become a weight you were never meant to carry.
