Our network of supported housing helps women transform their lives.
Through a network of Life Houses, run in partnership with local authorities, we provide supported accommodation and access to our Life Skills programme.
Tenants typically stay in a Life House for up to two years before they move on to independent living. Tenants are encouraged to create their own strength-based support plans on entering the House to achieve their goals.
The majority of the Life Houses are shared accommodation with communal facilities. This helps to create a community of support among the tenants during their time in a Life House.

Zoey came to live in one of Life’s Houses as she was fleeing domestic abuse … recently she told us that she graduated with a 2:1 from Bath Spa in Business and Management and is about to start her MA!
This is one of our ex-tenants, who moved out of a Life House into their own home a couple of months ago. Sarah, the tenant’s Support Worker, dropped them a foodbank parcel and had a cuppa and show round. Sarah said, “Such a lovely girl and really deserves this beautiful home
positive outcome.”
Kirstie gave birth to her baby girl in the Life House. She says, “Without the help from the ambulance crew, my Support Worker Anne and the girls in the House I couldn’t have done it. So thanks girls – it’s nice to know that we’re all there for each other – no matter what the situation!”

Since starting in 1970, Life Housing has been a place of safety and refuge for 12,000+ mums and babies.

We house mums and their babies who would otherwise be homeless, unsupported, or at risk. Every month, we house approximately 220 mums and babies.

Whenever a mum and baby move out of our house to independent living, that’s a success story. Every month, approximately 14 mums and babies move out of our houses.
We’re registered with the Housing Ombudsman service and are a Registered Provider of social housing (Registration number 4734).
