How you can help

Volunteering is changing. We appreciate that many of you may have one or two hours a week or month to give and you want it to be flexible. Your support is the backbone of what we do.

The Hub model means the creation of new and exciting volunteer roles to fit in with today’s lifestyles. We want your volunteering experience to be rewarding – to provide opportunities to learn and grow, meet new people, enhance your CVs – be part of a winning team.

Whether your talent lies in public speaking, skilled listening, fundraising or in retail, there’s a volunteer role for you. We will post specific volunteer opportunities on this page where you can help us out on specific prolife projects. You can also give your support to:

  • Our online services including our Helpline, Text-to-Talk and email
  • Your nearest Life house
  • Your local Life Matters® Officer

About this area

How does a Link work?

Each Link will be run as a local charity with a volunteer management board overseeing the work of:

Link Manager – Ade Banjoko

Ade joined Life in December 2018 having worked in advice service management, campaigns and volunteer management. He will be responsible for the Link’s activities and impact of Life’s work in the local area.

In his spare time he enjoys a game of chess, trips to the cinema and hiking in the countryside.

Pregnancy Matters™ Manager – Karen Newman

Supervising the housing, practical and emotional support offer in the area, Karen manages the nine Life houses in this region and a team of support workers and volunteers to ensure our resident mums and babies receive the best support.

Karen’s been working to support pregnant women and mothers with new babies in Life’s supported housing for 19 years before moving into her role as Pregnancy Matters™  manager in 2018.

Life Matters® Officer – Clare Plasom-Scott

Speaking in schools and at events in the region, Clare promotes our life affirming message and supportive services. She manages local PR, media and campaigns as well as promoting Life online via our social media pages.

Clare graduated from the University of Lancaster in 2014. After spending some time working in schools and health clinics in Zambia, she joined Life in 2015  as an Education Officer in the North West of England before moving to London in 2018 where she started her current Life Matters® Officer role in Link Three.
